China is expanding its network of centers in major cities.

According to Research & Markets, growing demand for advanced cancer treatments, coupled with significant investments in medical infrastructure, is driving significant growth in the proton therapy industry in China.

“Proton therapy is one of the rapidly growing options available because this form of treatment delivers highly targeted radiation to kill tumors while avoiding or reducing effects on surrounding healthy tissue,” the report states.

To meet growing demand, China is expanding its network of proton therapy centers and building new facilities in major cities across the country.

Government funding and technological innovation are key drivers of this expansion, positioning proton therapy as a core component of the country's cancer treatment landscape.

The global market is expected to reach US$7.19b by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate of 12.75%.
