It is estimated that the impact on net profit in fiscal year 2025 will be 1-2%, and the impact on net profit in fiscal year 2026 will be 2-3%.

Thailand will launch a deductible scheme for private hospitals in March, targeting insured patients whose claims are too high. CGS International said it expected the move to have a modest impact on industry revenue.

The plan is expected to have an impact of 1-2% on net profit in fiscal 2025 and 2-3% in fiscal 2026.

“As the impact is not significant, we have not yet incorporated it into our forecasts,” the report said.

It added: “Among the six hospitals we cover, BDMS has the highest contribution from local privately insured patients, accounting for 31% of patient revenue in the first nine months of 2024.”

The new policy stipulates that if the insured makes more than three outpatient claims for simple illnesses in a year, and the total claim exceeds 200% of the annual premium, he or she can enjoy 30-50% of the out-of-pocket expenses.

The co-payment will apply to those whose hospitalization claims exceed 400% of their annual premium, excluding claims for serious illness or major surgery.
