The plan prioritizes four core tasks.
South Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) announced its 2025 action plan, focusing on key areas to improve healthcare and welfare services.
The plan prioritizes four core tasks: meeting the needs of vulnerable populations, transforming the health care system, expanding care infrastructure, and addressing the challenges of an aging population.
The Ministry of Health intends to strengthen the identification of at-risk households and improve support systems to help individuals escape poverty and achieve self-reliance. The ministry also plans to improve access to basic and regional health care services.
Another key area is expanding customized care options, including enhancing care for people with disabilities and meeting emerging needs. Additionally, the Ministry of Health plans to expand infrastructure to meet these needs.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Health aims to establish a sustainable healthcare and welfare system. This includes easing the burden of childbirth and childcare while promoting the biohealth industry to develop long-term healthcare solutions.
