Medium-sized Manger is perfect for street photography

Date:

Vivo's flagship X-Series is known for having the best cameras in smartphones, and over the past 12 months or so, the industry's best handling has also been reduced to a more affordable mid-range V-Series.

The latest news about the V-series V50 has just entered the international market (mainly some regions in Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe). The converted retails for around $400 to $450, depending on the region, another stylish and curved phone with untrained eyes looking like a premium flagship phone.

Despite having a 6.77-inch OLED screen, the phone weighs only 189 grams and has a thickness of 7.7 mm, both phones are lower in thickness compared to flagship phones. So if you're used to carrying a flagship store, the V50 will feel lightweight and easier to hold. Almost exquisite.

Like most new forms of Chinese phones using a new form of energy density batteries, the V50 offers juice (here is 6000 mah) compared to phones from Samsung, Google and Apple. This is very impressive considering how thin the equipment is. Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 silicon purchased the upper-end chip from Qualcomm, and it performed well here.

But the star of the show is the camera. To be honest, the original hardware is not impressive: there is only a pair of 50 megapixel shooting games with decent sensor size and aperture. However, Vivo developed the best treatments in partnership with Zeiss. So, thanks to its shutter and atmospheric tone, the V50 is once again outstanding in Street Side Portrait photography.

Please note that the lens above comes with the appearance of the film camera. Vivo's handling is excellent, turning the digital image and giving it extra grain and depth to make it look like a simulation. For a $400 phone, these lenses are very good.

On the software side, the V50 runs Android 15 on top using Vivo's global software Funtouchos. Funtouchos is not as good as Vivo's Originos, the origin is limited to the Chinese market, but the features are very useful and look a bit outdated. There are some AI features here, such as AI Photo Eraser, but the generated edits are not as good as Oppo or Samsung's.

Overall, the Vivo V50 is another powerful mid-range phone, but it's hard for me to see the improvements in the V40 that just appeared six months ago. The larger battery is the only obvious difference. I think Vivo's strategy with V-line is not that users can upgrade from one generation to the next. The V50's goal is someone who might appear in the V29 two years ago or jumps from another brand's mid-sized mangle. Specifications, the device is priced above its price range and provides a great photography experience.
