Kuala Lumpur – Nepotism has become a deep local practice in Malaysia that has influenced all levels of government.
Nepotism can be defined as appointing an authoritative position of friends and colleagues without properly considering their qualifications.
Our government has long signed certain types of work and services to highly incompetent contractors, and has simply not provided reliable services to the people.
Many of these involve necessary services, which are crucial for public safety and well-being, including mowing, drainage cleaning, and repairing faulty street lights and edge facilities in public places.
Nepotism in Malaysia has been included in:
- Poor work quality and poor service quality lead to frequent failures and repeated problems.
- Various projects and repair work were delayed and delayed.
- Huge waste of government funds.
Such poor quality of work and high level of incompetence not only endangers the safety and comfort of the public, but also brings bad experiences to foreign tourists.
This is especially harmful to us, because tourism is crucial to our economic growth.
How long does it take to deal with it?
Didn’t the past time be conducted exclusively by the government rather than signed with relatives?
This move can help restore much-needed quality and capability to achieve such services.
It also saves much-needed government funds as any project or service will be conducted without any delays or failures.
Whenever the government is urged to implement major system reforms such as higher minimum wages, a pension scheme for the elderly, a greater strengthening of the public bus system, and a higher financial aid for rural poor, the government's main excuse is a serious lack of funds.
So is it unreasonable to immediately eliminate local practices of nepotism and other forms of corruption within the system to save more money? Or is this the usual situation of lack of political will?
The quality and strength of important services shall not be compromised when it comes to public safety and comfort.
If our government is truly responsible and truly caring for the people, then they will be the ones who provide such important services and ensure their high quality.
The government must eliminate nepotism once and for all!
No more important public services are required!
