South Korea's Second Vice Minister of Health and Welfare Park Min-soo, Japan's Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Takamaro Fukuoka, and China's National Health Commission Director Lei Haichao signed an important agreement to strengthen health cooperation.
The Minister of Health revised and signed a tripartite memorandum of cooperation and a joint action plan for the preparedness and response to pandemics or high-consequence infectious diseases of common concern.
According to the documents, South Korea, Japan and China will strengthen institutional coordination to improve public health security across the region.
The three countries will also expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation to promote healthy aging and promote universal health coverage.
The 17th China-Japan-ROK Health Ministers' Meeting was held in Tokyo. The meeting discussed strengthening multi-level health security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
Accordingly, the tripartite health ministers’ meeting adopted the Joint Statement.
