Court commissioner submits Sambal Jama Masjid investigation report in sealed envelope

Sambachal – Court Commissioner Ramesh Singh Raghav submitted a 40-page investigation report in a sealed envelope to the Chandaursi district court on Thursday regarding Sambhal’s Jama Masjid-Harihar Temple dispute.

However, further action will depend on the directions of the Supreme Court or High Court.

The court commissioner said the delay in submitting the FIR to the court was due to his failing health.

On November 19, eight parties including Mahant Rishiraj Giri and Harishankar Jain of Kaila Devi Temple filed a complaint in the Chandausi Senior Civil Judge's Court in Sambhal district claiming that Shahi Jama

The mosque was originally the Harihar Temple.

The court appointed advocate Ramesh Singh Raghav as court commissioner on the same day and ordered him to conduct an investigation.

Court commissioners conducted the inquiry on the same day amid tight security and the presence of senior officials from the region.

On November 24, when the court commissioners again went to investigate under the protection of DM and SP, massive protests broke out, leading to violence in which five people were killed and several policemen were injured.

The investigation report was originally scheduled to be submitted to the court on November 29, but the court gave the court commissioner an additional 10 days to submit the report. The investigation report was due to be submitted in a sealed envelope on December 9.

Jama Masjid advocate Shakeel Ahmed Warsi opposed the extra time.

Court Commissioner Ramesh Singh Raghav reached the court of Senior Civil Judge Chandausi Aditya Kumar Singh around 4.30 pm on Thursday and submitted the FIR in a yellow sealed envelope.

The court commissioner said he had submitted a 43-page investigation report to the court on the evidence found at the Shahi Jama Masjid during the investigation. In addition, approximately 60 photos were submitted to the court along with the investigation report to support the facts discovered.

Lawyer Shakeel Ahmed Warsi, representing Shahi Jama Masjid in the case, said they had received information regarding the submission of an investigation report to the court. He added that since the report was in a closed envelope, it would be opened only on the orders of the Supreme Court.
