The system uses multilingual speech recognition to accurately convert speech.
National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) and Chunghwa Telecom have collaborated to develop a smart voice system, an emergency prediction solution based on a fourth-generation telemedicine platform.
NTUH said the system can predict the likelihood of a patient experiencing an emergency within two weeks.
The system uses multilingual speech recognition optimized for healthcare to accurately convert speech (including Mandarin, English, Taiwanese, medical terminology and bilingual drug names) into text.
The development addresses challenges faced by traditional speech-to-text software, particularly the mix of languages, medical terminology and accents of foreign caregivers.
