Tokyo -The influence on social media on elections has aroused attention. Former Homer, Motohiko Saito, was supported through social networking sites in the election and re -came to power on November.
A poll survey conducted by Yomiuri Shimbun and Waseda University of Senior Social Sciences found that people who often use social websites and online viewing videos are particularly dissatisfied with politics.
When asked what kind of media they used to obtain information about political development, 6 % of the respondents chose X and 6 % of other social media platforms and chose video sharing websites such as YouTube. However, among those aged 18 to 39, these numbers are 21 % and 11 %, respectively.
Nearly 90 % of the two groups aged 18 to 39 were not satisfied with politics.
Regarding specific policies, compared with people using newspapers and TVs, those who often use social media and video sharing websites to obtain relevant political development information tend to be greater. They can give priority to these things, which will immediately benefit.
Those who choose social media and video sharing websites include: “Even if the tax burden reduces government services, it must also bear smaller tax burden” and “Japan's interests should be given priority to international cooperation.”
When asked how long they watched short videos related to political parties and candidates on Youtube, Tiktok, and other platforms, 57 % of the interviewees said in the House of Representatives last year that they never watched them. Another 20 % say they often watch them, and 22 % say they generally do not watch short videos.
Those aged 18 to 39 watched the shortest videos, of which 33 % often answered them often or often watch them.
The percentage of the Democratic Party in favor of the Democratic Party in the election ratio is 21 % of the interviewees who often watched such short films, which is significantly higher than the 12 % that never or rarely watch them.
DPFP has been strongly supported in the younger generation. However, even among young people, the party is obviously favored by people watching short videos. Among those who say that they vote for the party at the age of 18 to 39, the proportion of people who often or often watch such videos are about 30 %, which is higher than that of 20 % of them never or rarely watch them.
Among those who voted to support Reiwa Shinsengumi, they also saw the same trend.
Arata Yamazaki, a guest researcher who specializes in political psychology, said that the simple information of DPFP and Reiwa SHINSENGUMI was well received by the praise Essence DPFP requires increased after -tax income, and Reiwa Shinsengumi calls for the abolition of consumption tax.
However, Yamazaki is also a lecturer at Musashino University. He said: “It is difficult to say that the information of the policies seen on social media is enough to choose who voted.
“In order to choose a party or candidate who will realize the policy they want, voters need to pay attention to how they collect information.”
