India completely exempts the basic customs of 36 “life -saving” drugs

The announcement was proposed during the alliance budget 2025-26.

India plans to exempt 36 kinds of life -saving drugs and drugs (BCD) for treating cancer, rare diseases and chronic diseases.

The announcement was proposed by SMT, Minister of Finance and Corporation of Trade Union. During the union budget held by Nilmala Sitharaman in Congress 2025-26.

At the same time, the budget is recommended to be exempted from the 13 new drugs under the “Patient Aid Plan”, which will be exempted from it for free for patients.

In response, Vipul Jain, the CK Birla Hospital, welcomed the exemption of life -saving drugs and a 5 % tariff on the 5 % preferential tariffs on the six kinds of drugs.

Jain said: “Strongly promote medical care innovation, medical research and digital health transformation reflect a long -term method, which aims to enhance the accessibility, burden and quality of national medical services.”
