The Australian government has launched master-planned images for the $217 million ($350 million) reconstruction of Canterbury Hospital and key clinical priorities for the project.
The Rebuild will launch new and expanded services including larger intensive care units, specially built adult hospitalization accommodation, upgraded emergency departments and other surgical theaters.
In addition, the capacity of prenatal care, outpatient services and outpatient clinics will be expanded.
Other program upgrades include enhanced access to existing facilities, access to the entire hospital campus, and better internal access, urban space, landscaping and wayfinding.
The project will continue to be planned and designed, and further consultations will be conducted throughout the year.
