Certain canned tuna products sold by grocery stores including Costco, Trader Joe and Walmart are being recalled due to grocery stores’ concerns.
The recall involves some tuna and Washington, D.C. sold in 26 states, and under the brand names of Genova, Van Camp, Heb and Trader Joe, Tri-Union Seafoods is a subsidiary of Thai Union, a global seafood provider in Thailand.
“'easy to open' tension can cover manufacturing defects encountered on limited products, which may damage the integrity of the seal (especially over time) resulting in its leakage, or worse, Contaminated by Clostridium botulinum, a potentially deadly form of food form poisoning. According to Tri-Union, a California-based company, the supplier reminds companies of manufacturing defects.
The company and the FDA warn that people should also not consume recalled tuna, even if tuna that does not look spot-on looks or smells spoiled, and those who feel uncomfortable should have medical care immediately. They added that there are no diseases associated with the recalled fish.
Those who recall tuna should return it to the retailer for a refund, throw it away or contact Tri-Union directly for a search kit and coupon to replace the product. - Genova 7 oz in Florida and Costco, Georgia.
- Harris Teeter 5 oz Genova 5 oz in Harris Teeter, Publix, Heb, Kroger, Safeway, Walmart and independent retailers, in Alabama, Arizona, Arizona, Arkansas, California , Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Jersey, Tennessee, Tennessee and Texas.
- Van Camp is a Walmart record company and independent retailer in Florida, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Recalled products can include specific jar codes and optimal restriction dates at the bottom of the can, as well as the UPC number listed in the notification here.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Botox is a rare but serious disease caused by toxins that attack the body's nerves and cause breathing difficulties, muscle paralysis and even death. The agency said any form of Botox is a medical emergency.
Improper homemade, preserved or fermented foods can produce Botox. The CDC says infected people can get seriously ill or even die if they are not quickly receiving proper medical treatment.
