Washington – President Trump signed an executive order on Friday banning schools and universities Coronavirus disease Although no state currently has such a requirement, the vaccine will require federal funding.
This directive only applies to COVID-19 vaccine. All states require students to receive additional vaccinations to prevent diseases such as measles, mumps, polio, tetanus, and whooping cough, and make some exemptions.
The White House said in a fact sheet that the Covid-19-19 vaccine requirement is a “threatening educational opportunity.”
The order directs the Education Department and the Department of Health and Human Services to propose a plan to end the authorization of the “mandatory” COVID-19 vaccine and report on school compliance. Mr. Trump's directives also apply to educational services, state and local educational institutions.
During the 2024 campaign, Mr. Trump promised “not to give a penny to any schools with vaccine tasks or mask authorization.”
Mr. Trump chose Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a well-known vaccine skeptic, to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. Despite concerns about his views on vaccination, Kennedy was confirmed by the Senate this week.
