The Australian government announced the opening of the New Tara Hospital in Queensland, replacing the 60-year-old facility.
The new hospital has 12 inpatient beds, an expanded emergency department, specialized outpatient services, and improved digital connectivity.
It also includes a larger emergency treatment area, a single inpatient room and an upgraded palliative care space.
Meanwhile, plans have begun planning for $3.4 million ($5.4 million) of employee accommodation projects, which include a modern one-bedroom unit with a private bathroom, kitchen and living area.
The modular units will be built and installed on the site of the old hospital.
