BYD owners are not satisfied with their free smart driving promotion

Date:

Thousands of bit-vehicle owners in China are filing complaints to automakers, which recently offered autonomous driving capabilities for all its models for free.

China's third-party auto consumer complaint platform (called 12365Auto.com) saw 4,700 complaints against BYD between February 11 and 17, compared with about 150 the previous week and about 500 in January.

Many of these complaints come from customers who purchased vehicles before launching, who said they paid a lot of payments for the car.

BYD Auto, including the best-selling Ocean and Dynasty series, also ranks the top 10 on the platform’s list that ranks the model by the number of complaints received.

A complaint issued by the owner of the SEAL 06 DM-I plug-in hybrid sedan said they repeatedly asked salespeople when buying the car if they would launch an updated model this year.

“But just half a month after I picked up the car, the new model was launched with an upgraded configuration at the same price,” the man said.

The platform stated that Byd responded that the company had passed the complaints to the relevant company departments.

Byd did not respond to a request for comment.

Complaints are a long price war, and competitiveness in the Chinese market is one of the ripple effects as automakers cut prices, offer free features or incentives, or launch new models at a faster pace than other countries .
