When folded, Oppo finds N5 thickness of 8.93 mm.

Remember the foldable phone that was first released in 2019? It seemed impossible for them at the time, but in hindsight, wow, these devices are bulky and fragile.
Fast forward six years and the shape is mature, more than most of us might think. The best foldable phones today are thicker than “regular” phones, and durability is no longer an issue as they are mostly waterproof and can survive a few drops (I know, because I recently gave up on fair share in my recent fair share share year).
The latest foldable that just launched in Singapore today is Oppo's Find N5, which makes the crown the new “the thinnest foldable phone in the world”.
Oppo finds thin N5

When folded, it was found that N5 measured only 8.93mm and weighed 229 grams. The former number is the current leader, while the latter number ranks second in the industry.
Compared to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 6, the measurement when folded is 12.1mm, and the difference in thickness is obvious.

However, it is almost impossible for Honor Magic v3 to perceive the difference in real life compared to previous “the thinnest foldable phones”. So, this means that this extreme thinness actually stands out only if you are used to the folding boards from Samsung or Google. If you've been using the best Chinese folding style, you'll find that the N5 won't be immediately jaw-dropping.
However, there are other discoveries that N5 can also claim to be the best in the industry. First of all, Find N5 is the most waterproof foldable phone at present, with its official IPX9 rating. In the video below at 1:34 mark, you can see me putting water on the device and it works fine after that.
The Find N5 also has a very good Tele-Macro zoom lens that can be shot at a 70mm focal length and gets a minimum focus distance of only 10 cm, resulting in a very impressive similar close-up.

Finally, it was discovered that N5 could also be connected to Apple's Mac computers. Now you have to install OPPO's O+ software on your Mac, but once OPPO is installed, you can connect the Find N5 to your Mac seamlessly. Once connected, you can share files by dragging and dropping between two devices, and perhaps most impressively, you can remotely control your Mac using FIND N5.

The image above shows my discovery N5 mirroring my MacBook Pro screen, from where I can interact with my MacBook via Find N5, which means I don't have to touch my Mac at all.
By the way, Oppo's O+ software is completely safe. It follows all Apple's protocols and is available on Apple's own App Store.

More about the Find N5 I haven't even covered, like the 8.1-inch main folding screen, which is the largest in the foldable space, and the best Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip in the Android space. This will be done in the full comment later. As of now, Oppo has found that the N5 looks like the new best phone for foldable phones, and the fact that it will be sold outside of China is a big deal.
At the time of this report, I didn't have a retail price – the price would be very different between Europe and Hong Kong or Thailand – but the phone definitely would be less than the $1,800 built by Samsung's foldable build. In China, I can make a very educated guess that it starts at around 9,999 yuan, about $1,300.
