Banks in Singapore cut 4,000 roles using AI

Singapore’s largest bank DBS said artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to have a significant impact on job roles and employment in the coming years, and the bank reportedly “has been in AI for more than a decade.”

A BBC report says that as AI engages in more jobs, about 4,000 roles are expected to be cut in the next three years.

“The reduction in labor will come from natural wear and tear as temporary and contract roles stand out in the next few years,” a DBS spokesman said.

DBS, which includes 8,000 to 9,000 temporary or contract workers, including 8,000 to 9,000 temporary or contract workers, also expects to hire about 1,000 people to perform AI-related New job.
