Jakarta – Party Secretary General Tôlâm, his spouse Ngôphươngly and a high delegation arrived at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta on Sunday afternoon to begin a state visit to Indonesia and formally visited the East China Sea Secretary based on the country until Tuesday.
The trip was conducted at the invitation of the Indonesian President and the Greater Indonesian Movement Party Prabowo Subianto and ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn.
The Vietnam delegation was welcomed by Indonesia's Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Indonesian Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and Indonesian officials in VIệTNam Denny Abdi and other Indonesian officials. The Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia tạVănthông, Ambassador tthịngọchương – VIệTNAM's permanent representative came to ASEAN, and diplomats also attended the welcome ceremony.
Indonesia paid tribute to the delegation through the ritual seven-shot tribute, demonstrating the importance of the host to the visit.
This marks the first visit of the VIệTNAM Communist Party General Secretary in nearly eight years since August 2017, and the first visit of the Vietnamese Party of the ASEAN Secretariat.
The timing of this visit is particularly important as the two countries celebrate the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year, and Indonesia is the first Southeast Asian country to establish diplomatic ties with VIệTNAM. Over the past few years, especially since the strategic partnership in 2013, Indonesia’s cooperation has evolved in a more comprehensive and intensive manner. Exchanges of high-level delegations and contacts have been conducted regularly through bilateral and multilateral forums.

VIệTNAM's contribution is closely related to the meaningful development of ASEAN and helps strengthen a joint, self-reliant and open ASEAN community.
