Seoul – South Korea's Democrats will go all out to apply for Yoon Suk Yeol's removal, with some lawmakers going on hunger strikes or shaved their heads, urging the Constitutional Court to insist on the moratorium on the president's impeachment.
After the court was released from custody on Saturday, Democrats entered a “unstop protest” mode, bringing them to the streets of downtown Seoul to hold daily rally. The party’s lawmakers have also begun taking turns to participate in hunger strikes and shaving ceremonies.
The Democrats said Tuesday that the Constitutional Court's responsibility – will call for the protection of the National Assembly's December 14 impeachment to Yoon, “allowing the country to remove it.”
“As the last bastion of the Constitution and democracy, the Constitutional Court has the responsibility to clean up the chaos in a way that minimizes the chaos and harm to the country,” said Rep. Park Chan-Dae, a Democratic floor leader.
The court's decision to release the Mon was a shock to the Democratic Party, which is counting on the early decision of the improper sentence.
Democrats fear that the Constitutional Court might drag out the process until the ruling in a legal case by Rep. Lee Jae-Myung is issued – risking banning opposition leaders from running in a possible early presidential election.
The Democrats announced that all 170 lawmakers would “protest full-time” until the Constitutional Court's ruling on Yoon.
The Democrats also said they would file an impeachment motion against Attorney General Shim Woo-Jung for a court decision to cancel Yoon's detention order.
If the Democrats propose a motion for resilience, it will be the 30th improvisation motion filed by the party since Yoon took office in May 2022.
The People's Power Party said South Korea paid a “ratiotemptation price” for the Democratic Party's serial improper each.
Rep. Kweon Seong-Dong, the BJP's flooring chief, said the economic costs of suspending senior officials “could reach trillions of won.” “We strongly urge the Democrats to return to the path of serving the people and end the meaningless impotence craze,” he said.
Cwayne also argued that the main opposition party has received great support for the reasons for the Impotence General.
“It was the court that accepted the request of the President of the Yuan Dynasty to revoke his detention. If the Democrats were not satisfied with the court's ruling, why did the party attack the Attorney General?” The BJP's floor leader was questioned.
Kweon claims that the defendant Lee, in five ongoing criminal trials, tried not to offend the court, but pursued prosecution services.
