International Crime Tribunal’s case against former PM Hasina in Bangladesh: “Strong evidence of allegations found”

Date:

Dhaka – The ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be charged with murder, kidnapping, forced disappearance and arson in an international crime court.

Investigators said they found strong evidence to hold her accountable for executions, burning bodies, forced disappearances and imprisonment.

An investigation report on Hasina's alleged crimes against humanity is likely to be brought to court next month, making it the first to reach that stage, as the court reorganized on October 14.

However, the trial is expected to begin after some other cases.

The court's chief prosecutor MD Tajul Islam said the investigation report will be submitted on time, but the trial may begin in phase two or three.

This is because his team wants to test the waters with other smaller cases.

This will help prosecutors identify possible weaknesses they may have when bringing a case against the former Prime Minister.

“The case is a case against Ashulia’s killing and burning of six bodies, or cases brought about the killings and crimes of the killings and crimes of the killings of humanity in Chankharpool may begin trial because these cases are simple.”

Tajur said that despite prosecuting day and night work, they still need more time to investigate the atrocities in Jatrabari, Uttara and Badda, as there are many casualties in these places.

However, the final report is now ready. “We have received reports about the Ashulia incident.”

However, an investigator prefers anonymity and the arbitral tribunal's investigative body has not submitted an investigation report in 23 cases, three of which charged Hasina with crimes against humanity.

The case has also been charged with up to 143, including former ministers, Awami Alliance leaders and law enforcement officers.

Hasina will be charged with all the factors that are crimes against humanity to order systemic and extensive killings, an investigator said.

Investigative agencies have gathered concrete evidence to accuse the former prime minister who currently sanctions India’s responsibility.

Her crimes include murder, burning corpses, forced disappearances, limiting people to secret detention centers and political persecution.

Asked about the authenticity of a leaked audio clip, which sounds like Hasina's, which ordered the use of deadly weapons against protesters of the July uprising and arrested student coordinator, Tajur said: “We have received a forensic report that proves that Sheikh Hasina's voice is indeed Sheikh Hasina's voice.”

Regarding the recommendation of British international human rights lawyer Toby Cadman, referring the case of the July-August massacre to the International Criminal Court (ICC), Tajur said: “Toby may have made this point to strengthen global comments on Hasner.”

Despite this development, the experimental process will continue.

Investigators and prosecutors said the investigation report would provide detailed information on the murders, such as Abu Sayed in Rangpur, Ashabul Yamin in Savar, Hridoy in Konabari, Imam Hasan Taim in Jatrabari or Anas in Chankharpool.

These murders are particularly frightening, with some widely seen as social media video clips spreading.

The investigation will also include cases of law enforcement officers, shooting an unarmed man, hanging from the cornice of a building in Rampura, and six bodies burning in Savar.

The report will put Hasina in charge of all events taking place across Bangladesh.

She used police, other law enforcement agencies and members of the armed party to kill protesters. Investigators said she even ordered the helicopter to open fire at people.

Investigators also said that this is the cause of many deaths.
