Funding follows the initial grant granted in May 2024.

The Australian government will allocate an additional $189,000 ($300,000) to the Community Industry Group (CI Group) to support the transition from hospital to elderly care for seniors in the Ilawara Shaalhavin area of NSW.

Funding is funded following the initial grant granted in May 2024, allowing the CI Group to build on existing work while focusing on attracting external stakeholders and exploring options to accelerate the transition to elderly care.

The group will work with Illawarra Shoalhaven local health districts to assist RACF providers in implementing immediate occupancy expansion plans and identify alternative aged care options.

Over the past year, the project has been committed to implementing sustainable strategies to simplify these transitions.
