Diagnostic imaging market in India exceeds $7B by 2033

Date:

As health care spending continues to rise, and there is a greater demand for accessible solutions.

According to GlobalData, the diagnostic imaging market in India is expected to exceed $7B by 2033, with a CAGR of about 7%.

The expansion is attributed to rising health care spending, an increased burden of chronic diseases and a greater demand for accessible diagnostic solutions.

In addition, the adoption of portable imaging solutions is expected to make a significant contribution to market growth, especially in underserved and rural areas.

Currently, India accounts for about 20% of the Asia-Pacific diagnostic imaging equipment market.

However, high ownership costs, complex import regulations, and lack of service infrastructure pose challenges to widespread adoption.

“To unlock the full potential of portable imaging, regulatory bottlenecks must be addressed, import processes simplified and support networks must be streamlined,” said Rohit Anand, head of medical device practice at GlobalData.

“The future of diagnostic imaging in India lies in this hybrid model. The demand for portable imaging will accelerate as income levels rise and awareness of preventive health care grows,” Anand added.
