Exendin-4 imaging highlighted that tumors were different bright spots during PET/CT scans.
Singapore General Hospital (SGH) has introduced a new imaging technology that enhances the detection of insulinoma, and rare pancreatic tumors may be difficult to find using routine scans.
Exendin-4 imaging technology highlights tumors as bright spots during positron emission tomography/CT scans.
Huang Hian Liang, senior consultant at the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging in SGH, said enhanced imaging supports more accurate diagnosis and location.
Huang added: “By improving tumor localization, we can provide patients with more targeted and potentially invasive treatment options.”
