Citizens aged 70 and older are eligible for free health insurance of USD 5,820 (Rs 5 lakh).
Delhi has officially joined Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana as the 35th state/UT to implement the National Health Insurance Plan.
As part of the implementation, all seniors aged 70 and older, regardless of their socioeconomic status, are eligible for free health insurance under Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana.
Coverage includes treatment for all pre-existing conditions from the outset.
“In addition, the Delhi government will add an additional 5 lakh rupees to the cover provided by the central government,” said Rekha Gupta, chief minister of the Delhi government.
