Asia's Women 100 2023 is written from the 2023 editorial publication perspective. Later titles, later awards and post-2023 events are intentionally excluded from the ranking copy so that the list remains a period-specific record.
The ranking covers East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, West Asia and Asian-origin global platform figures. It considers role authority, international reach, institutional or market impact, category leadership, durability of influence, public credibility and 2023 relevance.

How we ranked Asia's Women 100
Candidates were assessed across Demonstrated consequence, Leadership authority, Institution building, Public value and Asian and global reach. Reporting centred on work attributable to 2023, with earlier achievements used only to establish context. Editors reviewed the top tier and the cut line before publication. Advertising, sponsorship, wealth and visibility had no bearing on the order.
Demonstrated consequence
FigureAsia examined the material change attributable to the candidate across enterprise, public life, culture, science or civic capacity. The 2023 assessment considered scale, durability, direct attribution and the conditions under which the outcome was achieved.
Leadership authority
FigureAsia examined the legitimacy and effectiveness with which the candidate mobilised people, ideas and institutions toward a defined outcome. The 2023 assessment considered scale, durability, direct attribution and the conditions under which the outcome was achieved.
Institution building

The line every candidate had to clear.
Reputation opened the file. It did not secure a place. Every name was tested against the same editorial standards before the ranking was set.
The candidate must belong within the edition's women-focused editorial category, have a substantive Asian connection and have produced attributable consequence during the edition year.
Eligibility requires an Asian origin, identity, operating base or body of work of sufficient depth to make the candidate part of Asia's contemporary record; incidental market exposure is not enough.

FigureAsia requires evidence of material contribution. Publicity, title, wealth, audience size, fundraising, office or reputation may inform context but never establishes eligibility or rank on its own.
